On Friday Oct 5th 19 women checked in at Lutheranch. Eleven of us have attended at least one other LCR Women’s Retreat while 8 new women joined us. Even though we had hoped for a larger group God knew that this would be the perfect number for this Retreat. Our Cozy Mountain Retreat was planned to help us Build Relationship with other women.
The weekend was a blend of Bible Study and fellowship time. The study based on the Relationship between Ruth and Naomi showed us how their relationship was built on a firm foundation both the spiritual and personal. This is exactly what happened to us as we worked through the Bible study and conversation during our fellowship. During our first Bible study we had an exercise where we were given a bag full of odds and ends to build what we would want in our dream retreat home. In discussion we discovered that what we all had in common was a foundation. Just as the foundation was there for Ruth and Naomi and for each women in the room. Both spiritual and personal relationships were built stronger as we did fun things like our time around the fire pit making S’mores or just getting to knowing each other. We also were thankful for Pastor Stephen coming to have a brief devotion and communion.
You can say that this was a Mountain Top experience for us all.
We also collected 31 bags of clothing were taken to Cobb Street Ministries Shelter. Another three bags were collected at the retreat.
