The holiest week of the church year.
It’s holy because we remember the last events of Jesus’ life.
It’s holy because God’s presence can be seen and felt in events throughout it.
It begins with Palm Sunday, remembering Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem.
It ends with Easter Sunday morning, and the celebration of Jesus’ resurrection and entry into the lives of people of all times and places
And in between…
Maundy Thursday – Jesus’ last supper with His disciples. The word “Maundy” comes from a Latin word meaning “command.” “This I command you, to love one another as I have loved you.” Many churches like LCR celebrate foot washing as a sign and symbol of that love.
Good Friday – remembering the death off Jesus. Why did He have to die? To lay down His life in order that we might have the forgiveness of sins and the promise of resurrected life with Him.
In the world, this just might be another week, but in the church it is holy because of what it says about God and God’s son Jesus.
I invite you to be a vital part of that holiness. Come to worship and experience the passion and love of Jesus Christ. Come to worship and join your sisters and brothers as we remember what God HAS done and WILL CONTINUE to do. Come to worship and meet Jesus in the events of your life, just as those first disciples met Him in the events of their lives.
