I love this time of year with the lights and the songs and the good feelings. I don’t like this time of year because it seems like everyone encroaches on my priorities. I like my schedule and the flow the life that my family has. For the most part, I like how things are set up. Then we get into this hectic time of year with sales, and travel, and events, and illness. Other priorities force their way into my life and displace my priorities. Often those competing priorities leave me poorer, poorer in health, time, energy. But every now and again there’s a competing priority that announces a new way, a new priority that exchanges life for death, freedom for captivity, health for all my “itus-es.” That new priority is announced by Mark. He’s announced by John. Listen for him in Mark 1:1-8.
